Meet the Hope for Horse's Team

I have always loved horses. I was the typical pony mad child that jumped at the chance to spend time with horses any chance she got, and much to my disappointment I was unable to ride regularly until I was a teenager. Ironically I now haven't ridden in several years, and my relationship with my horses on the ground is far more valuable to me than any time in the saddle ever was. I've always felt there was a better way, a life without whips and spurs and bits, and after rescuing my first horse and heart horse Jake I finally found it with his guidance. Since then I have done all I can to learn about how to provide my horses with the most natural and enriching life possible, as well as training and connecting with them in a way that gives them choice and they enjoy as much as I do. I have been incredibly lucky to have 3 incredibly special rescue horses in my life, who you can read about below, and they have all taught me so much in their own ways as well as being the most amazing friends. I am extremely passionate about rescuing horses; I have a special interest in those who have suffered trauma and neglect and helping them in any way I can. I hope to help many horses in my future and provide a soft place to land for many more that cross my path and need it.

Now to meet the horses:

Jake was my first love; a 16hh Irish Cob who I rescued in his final years of life. I was lucky enough to know him for a decade, and own him for half of that, but no amount of time would ever have been enough with him. Jake had suffered a lifetime of abuse and came to me shut down and with a whole host of health issues. He taught me all about equine behaviour and positive reinforcement and everything else ethical that comes along with it. He was the main inspiration behind my business, and is also featured on my logo. He was an incredibly special horse and had an extremely close bond with Ollie, he truly was my world and best friend. Sadly Jake passed away in September 2022 at the age of 29 due to a severe colic. Providing him with a safe and loving place to stay in his final years of life and seeing him open up when he had been through so much truly was one of the biggest privileges of my life. He will be forever loved and missed dearly.

Ollie is my 13.2hh 18 year old Arab x Dartmoor pony. I rescued Ollie in 2020 as a rehabilitation case, he had been in a friends rescue centre for a year and needed an understanding and knowledgeable home to take him on, which I am happy to have been able to offer him. Ollie had a bad start to life and as a result is very nervous of new people and new situations, he can also resort to aggression when he is afraid- and is half blind. Since coming home with me Ollie has made so much progress, going from a pony I couldn't get near to one who trusts me and is so confident whenever we work together, as well as being an incredible friend. He is still very nervous of life outside of me, and we continue to work on this day to day.

Reggie is my 14hh 13 year old Andalusian X and most recent rescue who I adopted as a companion for Ollie after Jake sadly passed away. I was trusted with Reggie after he struggled to find a home due to behavioural issues, and he has become an incredibly well loved member of the family. Reggie was sadly diagnosed with PSSM in Autumn 2023 and this is something that we have been working hard to get under control, previous to this he was also diagnosed with arthritis and EMS and continues to be on a weight loss journey since coming to me.
