Welcome to Hope For Horses Behaviour & Training
Hi everyone! I'm Jordan, a qualified equine behaviour consultant and positive reinforcement trainer based in North Yorkshire with my two rescue ponies Ollie & Reggie.

I have always been a horse lover, and rescuing my heart horse Jake took me down the path of horse behaviour and positive reinforcement. I wanted to help horses and their owners create genuine and positive relationships as well as inspire others to care for their horses more naturally, and so I completed a course in equine behaviour with the Natural Animal Centre and graduated in 2021. At the same time I studied positive reinforcement training through Connection Training and since then have spent as much time as possible taking courses, reading books, researching and getting hands on experience to learn all I can about horses.

My mission is to provide education and support to horses and their owners in positive and compassionate ways that are grounded in science.

I am also a huge advocate for rescue horses, all of my horses have been rescues and I try my hardest to help them however I can.
My Story
I’ve always loved horses, but didn’t start my journey with them until I was a teenager taking riding lessons. Something about the traditional way things were done didn't feel right to me and I was always searching for something more than bits and whips; I wasn't just into riding and craved a genuine connection with the horses themselves. I became a stable hand and fell for my lesson horse Jake, a troubled sweetheart of a cob who was my whole world. Because of him I fell into the world of positive reinforcement and more ethical ways of keeping horses as well as learning all about their behaviour. In 2021 I wanted to help more horses, I had just adopted a tricky little rescue pony named Ollie and craved more knowledge and opportunity. I enrolled with the NAC and studied Equine Behaviour, qualifying as an equine behavioural trainer. Alongside this I have taken many other courses and to compliment this I have read and studied as many books and as much research as I can get my hands on detailing all sorts from behaviour, positive training and enrichment to anatomy, neuroscience, and body work. I continue to share my knowledge of horses as well as the lives of myself and my own rescue horses, and hope that in doing so I am able to inspire others to grow with their own equine companions.

My Experience
Over the last few years I have been able to grow my knowledgebase of equine behaviour and training. In 2021 I graduated from the Natural Animal Centre with a stage 1 Equine Behaviour qualification, at the same time I was also completing home study courses through Connection Training to build my knowledge of positive reinforcement and clicker training. I am keen to continue my learning and have taken a range of courses about behaviour, training, equine pain, ethical horse management and other related topics. I am also a very keen reader so love to read books on these subjects whenever I can.

I have previously worked on stable yards as a stable hand and helping during riding lessons and group hacks, however I wasn't a fan of this due to the traditional ways that the horses were kept which inspired me to find a better way. I have owned my own rescue horses for a number of years and this has easily been the most rewarding and also the biggest learning experience of my life.

I have worked as an equine behaviourist and positive reinforcement coach for the last few years and am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of so many horses.

My Vision
I would love to see a world where horses are treated ethically and fairly, and I am determined to be part of the change. I currently have social media accounts across multiple platforms where I aim to provide education about ethical horsemanship and equine behaviour. I also offer both in-person and online support for horses with behavioural issues as well as those who wish to learn more about training with positive reinforcement, My inbox is also always open to provide advice wherever I can.
